Emily Beza one of our longstanding Artists (and Volunteers) was delighted to receive the news that she has been awarded a grant. This is a modest but welcome bursary to purchase art materials that will further her creative practice.

Emily is a practising artist who has exhibited in galleries across the UK. She was recently longlisted for a prestigious art prize in York.

As a figurative artist - Emily is developing her own unique style in self-portraiture and portraiture, capturing facial expressions, exploring the power of line and form.

"My images reflect my state of mind as I'm making them. They illustrate where I am in my personal journey of self-recovery. The process helps me manage my mental health and ability to move forward with both my creativity and life."

Emily makes a valuable contribution to Artspace. She acts as a link between Sudio Members and The Trustees; ensuring that everyone's voice is heard. She recently organised a trip to a Gallery in London. Everyone really appreciated her hard work and attention to detail which made the day a great success.
